A sliding window has very few components that are necessary for its operation and thus there is very little long term problems with a quality window. There are no pulleys or springs required for operation. In fact, all there is are wheels inside the track that the window glides on. The fact that there are very few components also makes sliding windows very low maintenance. All you have to do is to lubricate the slider occasionally and to vacuum out the dirt and debris from the window track. Beware that most of the low quality windows that are on the market currently have tiny wheels that simply may not perform to your expectations, particularly with heavier glass is installed into the window. Sliding windows are also Energy Efficient with the correct manufacturing processes. Window glazing improves insulation and energy efficiency depending of what glass is used. Different glass can give different ratings with relation to sound, thermal comfort. See “Glass” section for further information o n g l a z i n g o p t i o n s .

High Performance and Eco Windows and Doors
Louvre Windows .
Louvre windows are a common choice in some parts of Australia because they’re stylish, versatile and can help to naturally ventilate your home. These types of window openings are particularly popular in the tropical northern regions of Australia where they’re valued for the excellent crossflow ventilation they can help to provide. .
Awning and Casement Windows .
Awning windows are very popular at the moment for a contemporary style of home. They can be placed higher in walls than many other types of windows. When placed high, awning windows can provide natural light and ventilation, without compromising privacy. High placement also allows for maximum wall space for design aspects such as art and furniture placement.
Awning windows are a great choice for sound reduction as the weather-tight construction offers a superior seal against air leakage and they are very effective at reducing noise transmission and are also a great choice in damp climates.
Double hung windows .
Double hung windows work by sliding the bottom sash up or the top sash down. These windows are compatible with most home styles and they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colours. Newer double hung windows seal much better than the older style timber double hung windows. Although precise measurements are required to minimize moisture and air leaks, high quality double hung windows have the option of quadruple weatherstripping. This feature prevents heat from escaping and cold air from entering, creating a very comfortable living environment. Double hung windows are not recommended for acoustic performance as they will not accept acoustic seals.
Based on the same concept as a sliding window, sliding doors are reasonably low maintenance.
Bringing the outside into your home has become a design trend that seems to be here to stay.
The concept is centered around the fact that not many people have the privilege of living in an area where they can be surrounded by nature on a permanent basis. So what little nature is available to you should be expanded in any way possible.
By using large windows and sliding glass doors, you are essentially enlarging the outside area by inviting it into your home. This is visually striking, as it keeps your home from becoming closed off to the outside.
Standard Window Colours .
We can manufacture windows to ANY powdercoated or anodised colour, but we do have a standard range of powdercoat colours as in the image on right.
